I love gadgets! I love to go to Bed Bath and Beyond and look at all the kitchen gadgets. Like the collapsible measuring cups we bought that I thought were cool. I bought a waffle fry maker. That's cool too. I've also seen a collapsible colander which I also thought was cool but we already have 2.

What kind of gadgets do you like? What is something you couldn't live without that is a gadget? Maybe you guys can tell me of something that I have to have. Please share.

OMyGosh - Bed and Bath is the awesomest place and if I were rich I soon wouldn't be!!!

We recently bought pillows in there. I realize pillows aren't gadgets but everything in the store calls out to me and I have to pick.

For Christmas we turned our DD loose in there and trying to buy everything she wanted (she went easy on us).

the best and most recent gadget i got is arielle. you can read about her here

it lets you hear music or tv with headphones but without having to connect the headphone to the device. you connect one part to the tv, stereo, mp3 player, whatever. connect the other part to your headphones. that's it. you can listen to the music or whatever in another room, across the room, what have you. i use it at the gym. my bag with my mp3 player is in the back of the room in a cubby. i circulate throughout the room with only my headphones and one part of arielle. that part is in my pocket. it's not bulky or weighty. it also helps keep the headphone wires out the way of the exercise machines because it's threaded under my clothes. it's great.

when i got mine back in october it was only $79.

I love gadgets. Especially kitchen gadgets. My heart was broken when Lechter's went under. If you're not familiar, picture Bed, Bath & Beyond's kitchen section expanded to 20,000 square feet. You could buy anything there. I used to spend hours browsing. There was a similar store in the Potomac Mills mall in Virginia, but I think they closed, too.

Yes, I like gadgets, electronic gadgets especially.

My iPod Touch is by far my favorite gadget. We only have one computer connected to the Internet for 4 of us to share, so it is great to be able to check my e-mail or face-book on that, when the other computer is busy.

Lechter's was the best...it's sad that they closed.

NYC has loads of excellent kitchen stores--Kam Man Food Products, Bowery Kitchen, Broadway Panhandler, loads of commercial and restaurant supply stores that sell to the public.

Another great kitchen store is Fante's in Philadelphia.

No. I am not a gadget person. That does not mean I don't own some. I do. But I have to be convinced of my need before I will purchase one.

How many gadgets quickly end up at GoodWill? or not so quickly but are unused just the same? My son just bought his bread machine there. How many bread machines sit idle in a kitchen cupboard or basement?

No, it takes more than seeing it to make me want something. And I do cook duck every Christmas, Kat_D! But PTL I do not need a duck press.

Oh I loved Lechters! We had one at the mall near the college I went to. Of course I was a broke college student at the time, but I still loved browsing and occasionally would make a small purchase. By the time I graduated college and was back in the Chicago area for a weekend, Lechters was gone. What a bummer! They did have everything there. If I remember right the prices were really good too.

Miss Giggles. . .I'd love to get a Keurig too. I can't decide if they are worth the money though. What do you think? If I do get one, I will probably get it from Kohl's when my mom has a 30% off coupon. Somehow she always gets those. I don't get any because I don't have their credit card.

I don't need one either, especially at that price. I have never cooked duck though...I'd love to have your recipe.

I think the Keurig would be worth it.

You can get the filter though to use your own coffee if you don't want to keep buying kcups.

I never heard of Letchers. I don't think we had one in CT. I would have gone crazy in there! For this thread I meant Kitchen gadgets but hey, if you want to talk electronics, that's okay too.

My mom and I are both very short. I'm only 4'6" so I can't reach a lot of our top cabinets without a stool or climbing on the counter (my dad freaks out when I do that) so we bought that thing called the Grabber. Sometimes I hate getting out the stool and setting it up and then putting it back. I love the Grabber! It really works! I like the other stuff Bed, Bath and Beyond sells too. That's where we got our new shower curtain. We painted the walls Sage green but boy was it a pain to find anything to match that didn't cost an arm and a leg and wasn't totally vinyl. We found it at Bed, Bath & Beyond. We always get coupons from them in the mail. Do you know if they have expired, they will take them anyway? We've done it many times.

Do you know what other store I love for gadgets? Ikea! They have lots of cool things in there too.

I have to look at the Container Store. I hear Oprah likes them because Stedman got her a beautiful box and she was raving about them.

We have a restaurant supply store in CT but it's kind of far away from us so we've never gone but Rachael Ray says it's a good place to get gadgets and things like that cheap. This one advertises on TV and it is open to the public.

You know what else I do? I look at a web site like Overstock or HSN or QVC to see what people write as reviews for something. If more people like it than don't, then I know it's okay. If it's the other way, I wouldn't take one if someone gave it to me for free. I tried to look on Consumers Reports once but it was the worst site to navigate and I had to join something to go on it. I never went on it again.

I want that brownie pan that looks like the old fashioned metal ice cube trays. I hate having to cut brownies. I'll have to check HSN or QVC to see how it rated. I also saw a pan that makes muffins but puts a hole in the muffin so you can fill it up. That looks cool too. I can see me making muffins with bacon and cheese in the middle or ham and cheese. Something for breakfast.

I'm more or less in your camp on this. I've seen a lot of people waste a lot of money on things they use once or twice, or on things that are fads that fade. And, where do you put all these things? I do a lot of cooking, but I like to keep my equipment pretty basic.

I do buy the occasional gadget. The latest one that I got that I use a lot is the ground meat chopper. It has an x shaped bottom, and is used to break the ground meat into small pieces. It works amazingly well. It can also be used by those who buy frozen orange juice to break up the concentrate.

I love that hamburg chopper thing! I have one and it is awesome! I had such a problem before I had it chopping up beef and now it's so easy! That is one thing I would so recommend.

I won't say I buy a lot of gadgets and it has to be something I know I will use, like the thing that makes waffle fries. We used to have a really cool one and it was a machine. It was all plastic and you moved the handle and waffle fries came out. This one I have now you hold in your hands and slice down and then move the potato and slice it again. It doesn't work as good as the machine but something on it broke and I couldn't use it. My dad said he would fix it but instead he threw it away. With this new waffle thing, I have almost cit my fingers with it. Not bad but a nick.

We just bought a new muffin pan with a cover. That way we can store the muffins in the pan instead of using our cake cover which is a pain to have to wash because it's big and doesn't fit in the dishwasher.
